ADA Accommodation Policy for Workshops and Retreats

At Tainica Therapeutics, we are committed to providing an inclusive, accessible, and welcoming learning environment for all participants. We recognize that individuals with disabilities may need accommodations in order to fully participate in the workshop. This policy outlines the process for requesting accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

1. Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to ensure that individuals with disabilities have equal access to all aspects of our Continuing Education (CE) massage workshop. We aim to make reasonable accommodations to enable all participants to engage with the course content, materials, and activities in a way that meets their needs.

2. Types of Accommodations

Accommodations may vary based on the nature of the disability and the specific needs of the participant. Possible accommodations might include:

  • Modified workshop materials

(e.g., large print, digital formats, screen readers).

  • Accessible venue modifications

(e.g., wheelchair access, adjustable seating).

  • Extended time

for completing assignments or practical tasks.

  • Sign language interpreters or real-time captioning

for communication access.

  • Support for physical disabilities

(e.g., adaptive equipment or assistance with mobility).

3. Requesting Accommodations

To ensure that accommodations are arranged in a timely manner, we ask that participants make their requests at least 3 weeks prior to the start of the workshop. This allows us sufficient time to coordinate the necessary support.

1. Submit a Request:

  • Email elenavargas@tainicatherapeutics.com or contact 980-552-8787 to inform us of your accommodation needs. Please include specific details about the type of accommodation required and any documentation that supports your request (e.g., medical note, formal recommendation).

2. Discuss Needs:

  • Our team will contact you to discuss your accommodation needs further and explore how we can best meet them.

3. Confirm Arrangements:

  • Once accommodations have been finalized, we will confirm the arrangements and provide any necessary details to ensure you are fully prepared for the workshop.

Steps to request accommodations:

4. Confidentiality

Any information regarding your disability and accommodation needs will be handled with the utmost confidentiality. We will not share this information without your consent, except when necessary to implement the accommodation.

5. Accessibility of Workshop Location

We strive to host workshops in venues that are fully accessible. If you have specific concerns about the physical accessibility of the workshop location (e.g., building entrances, parking, seating arrangements), please let us know ahead of time, and we will work with the venue to make any necessary adjustments.

6. Responsibilities of Participants

Participants are encouraged to:

  • Make accommodation requests in advance (at least 3 weeks prior to the workshop) to ensure adequate time for processing.

  • Collaborate with the organizer to provide clear information regarding their needs, so we can address them effectively.

  • Notify us as soon as possible if any accommodations need to be adjusted or if additional support is required during the workshop.

7. Non-Discrimination

We prohibit any form of discrimination against participants with disabilities. We are committed to making every effort to provide a fair, respectful, and equal learning experience for all participants, regardless of their disability status.
